McGee Ledbetter’s goal in the 80th minute provided the East Central Community College men’s soccer team with a 1-0 victory in their MACJC North Division opener with Holmes
Community College Wednesday afternoon on the Decatur campus.
The shut-out also represented the Soccer Warriors’ third straight win, following impressive victories over Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (3-2) and Meridian
Community College (4-2).
Ledbetter is a sophomore forward/midfielder from Heritage Academy in
Columbus. Jordan Walker was credited with an assist in the game-winning score.
Walker is a freshman defender from Newton County High School.
EC continues division action by battling Itawamba Community College Friday, Sept. 14. Game times are 2 and 4 p.m. on the Decatur campus.
The Lady Warriors and Warriors host Copiah-Lincoln Community College
Monday, Sept. 17 in non-division contests beginning at 2
p.m.
