The Warriors faced off against Jones County Junior College Wednesday in a South Division battle. JCJC entered the day 6-0 in the south division ahead of the second place warriors. JCJC took advantage of a few Warrior errors and got a few key hits to take the first game from the Warriors 10-4. Casey Wells of West Jones high school took the mound for the Warriors in game two. Wells threw a complete game to get the W, with the help of a 2-run homerun by Fred Hampton and 5 other runs by the rest of the Warriors. Wells gave up 6 hits and 4 runs through 7 innings in the Warriors victory. East Central improved to 5
Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College came to decatur riding on a 3 game winning streak, trying to increase their streak to five. Warrior pitchers, Fernando Gonzalez, Brock Ward, and Blake Dubuisson held the Bulldogs to only two runs in 14 innings. Gonzalez pitched 5 innings in game 1, giving up only 1 run on 4 hits. Brock Ward came in, throwing 2 shutout innings, to close the door for the Warriors. Ricky Velez and Carlos Leal lead the team on offense by driving in 5 runs on 4 hits. Blake Dubuisson went 7 innings in game two, giving up 8 hits and only 1 run. Double plays by Tim Anderson and Kyle Henson were the Warriors best friend throughout the day. Henson drove in 2 runs on a 2 out single in the 5th th close the door on the Bulldogs. The Warriors (16-10 and 4-2 in South division) will host Jones County Junior College in Decatur, on the 28th.
