East Central squared off in a doubleheader Saturday against Hinds Community College. Hinds came in ranked #16 in the njcaa poll with an impressive 26-8 record, and there was only a half game difference in them and EC in the south division. Both games proved to be tuff games for each team and each team came away with one win and one loss on the day. In game one, Fernando Gonzalez dominated the Eagles through the first two innings but didnt make it out of the third inning due to the six runs posted by the Eagles. The Warriors held off Hinds the rest of the game and made a good effort to come back by putting up four runs in the bottom of the sixth. In game two, the Warriors took the early lead by scoring one run in the bottom of the second, but the Eagles answered by posting a five spot in the top of the third and three more in the top of the fourth to make the score 8-1 Hinds. East Central rallied in the bottom of the fourth to put up nine runs with help from Tim Anderson's grand slam. East Central added one run in the fifth with another Anderson home run and an extra run in the sixth to take the 12-8 victory in game two. Evan Humphries got the W in game two to improve his recored to 5-0.
