Annual and Endowed Scholarships are funded by individual and/or group donations and are made available to eligible students according to each scholarship's guidelines.

Annual scholarships can be funded on a semester or yearly basis and no minimum contribution is required.  However, annual scholarships are usually funded to cover tuition which is currently $700 per semester.

The endowment of a scholarship to be awarded at ECCC requires a minimum investment of $10,000.  An endowment may be established with a minimum initial investment of $1,000 with agreement to complete the total $10,000 investment in three years or less.

The ECCC Foundation currently has 59 endowed scholarships, 28 annual scholarships, and 5 partially endowed scholarships.  A minimum is required to endow these partially endowed scholarship, and scholarships cannot be awarded until the minimum of $10,000 is reached.  With your help these partially endowed scholarships can be fully endowed and awarded to deserving students.

Partially Endowed Scholarships at EC

• Iris Boggan Scholarship - established by her family in honor Mrs. Iris Boggan.

• Classes of 1957, 1958, and 1959 Scholarship - established by the 1957, 1958, & 1959 EC Alumni Group.  These three classes attend special meetings each year at homecoming.

• Stella Dickerson Technical Honor Scholarship - established to honor Mrs. Stella Dickerson, a computer technology instructor at East Central, by one of her students.

• Hogue-Brantley Endowed Scholarship - established to honor Coyt Hogue and Bobbie Brantley Hogue, parents of EC alumni Carolyn Hogue Appler '66 and Larry Hogue '61.

• Willis W. "Bubba" Smith Memorial Scholarship - established in memory of Willis W. "Bubba" Smith who was killed in combat during the Vietnam War.
