Several East Central Community College baseball players received MACJC Second-Team honors following the successful 2010 campaign. The awards were presented by head coach Neal Holliman (left) following a ceremony on the Decatur campus. Honorees include (second from left) pitcher Allen Johnson of Leake Academy, pitcher/infielder Tyler Dalton of Winston Academy, pitcher Cal Cossich of Ocean Springs, shortstop/pitcher Donnie Tabb of Neshoba Central and pitcher Colton Mitchell of Lake. Johnson posted a 6-4 record and had a 5.10 earned run average. He led in innings pitched (72 1/3) and strikeouts (57). Johnson was also selected the team’s most valuable pitcher. Dalton went 5-2 on the mound and had a 4.53 era. He fanned 29 batters through 49 2/3 innings. Cossich was 6-0 on the mound and posted a 3.41 era. He registered 40 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings. Tabb batted .345 with three home runs, 16 doubles and two triples. He also collected 49 RBIs. Mitchell was 8-4 on the mound with a 4.47 era. He hurled 56 1/3 innings and fanned 47 batters. All but Johnson are freshmen. The Diamond Warriors were runners-up in the MACJC State Baseball Tournament and advanced to Region 23 Tournament competition before finishing season action with a 39-20 record.)
