East Central Community College baseball standouts Quinn Stokes (center) and Richie Long, both of Carthage, were selected on the 2010 All-Region 23 and MACJC All-State baseball squads following the Diamond Warriors’ successful campaign. The awards were presented by head coach Neal Holliman (left) following a ceremony on the Decatur campus. Stokes, a sophomore catcher/outfielder, batted .344 and had 10 home runs, two triples and 11 doubles. He was also credited with 51 RBIs. Long, a freshman first baseman/pitcher, posted a team-best .419 average and also led in home runs (14), doubles (17), RBIs (73) as well as total hits (80). He was also named ECCC’s most valuable offensive player. The Diamond Warriors were runners-up in the MACJC State Tournament and advanced to Region 23 Tournament competition before finishing season action with a 39-20 record.
