A full weekend of community college baseball competition is scheduled Feb. 19-21, 2010, when the annual East Central Community College Wilson/Demarini Tournament is held at the Clark/Gay Baseball Complex on the Decatur campus.
In addition to the ECCC Diamond Warriors, other JUCO teams participating in the three-day event include Andrew College, from Cuthbert, Ga.; Wallace State, located in Hanceville, Ala.; Miss. Gulf Coast, Holmes and Baton Rouge.
A seven-inning matchup between East Central and Andrew College at 11 a.m. Friday begins tournament action and will be followed by a seven-inning contest between Andrew College and Wallace State at 2 p.m. and a nine-inning battle featuring EC and Wallace-State at 5 p.m.
Games Saturday – which are all seven-inning affairs – include Andrew College vs. Holmes at 10 a.m., Gulf Coast and Andrew College at 12:45 p.m., Holmes vs. Baton Rouge at 3:30 p.m., and Baton Rouge and Gulf Coast at 6 p.m.
A nine-inning battle at 12:30 p.m. between East Central and Baton Rouge begins Sunday’s competition and will be followed by a seven-inning matchup with the same teams, starting at 3:30 p.m.
Admission is $5 each day or $10 for a three-day tournament pass.
