The annual high school boys’ basketball camp is scheduled July 18-21 at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced Maurice Bowie, Warrior head basketball coach and camp coordinator.

Coach Bowie said the purpose of the four-day activity “is to provide an instructional camp in the fundamental skills of basketball and promote an enjoyment for the game.”

Registration is set from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 18 in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building, and will be followed by the first two practice sessions, scheduled from 4 to 6 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. 

Three sessions are planned Monday, July 19 and Tuesday, July 20, from 9 to 11 a.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

The final session takes place from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 21.

Cost is $150 for full-time campers and $115 for day campers. Only money orders or cash will be accepted for payment and should be payable to ECCC Basketball Camp. Fees include meals for full-time campers (day campers will be provided noon and evening meals only), dormitory room for full-time campers, accident insurance and camp T-shirt. Full-time campers must provide linens, blankets and pillows. A camp bank will be provided for concessions, pizzas and snacks.

A deposit of $50 may be made in advance to satisfy registration with the balance due at the beginning of camp.

Parents and friends are welcome to attend any or all sessions. Camp will close Wednesday after the morning session.
