The Lady Diamond Warriors, who improved to 44-9-1 following the historic win, have now set their sights on the 2010 NJCAA Division II Softball Championship scheduled May 20-22 in Normal, Illinois. East Central advanced to the regional finals after upsetting top-ranked Louisiana State University at Eunice 4-3 in first-round action and clipping Gulf Coast 3-1 in the semi-finals of the three-day, double-elimination event. The Lady Diamond Warriors finished second in the MACJC State Championship held the previous week at Itawamba Community College in Fulton.
