An evening of musical entertainment is scheduled Thursday, March 11, 2010, when East Central Community College’s Band Department presents its Spring Concert on the Decatur campus, announced Thomas W. Carson, director of bands.

The annual program begins at 7 p.m. in Huff Auditorium, and features performances by the concert and jazz bands and the percussion ensemble.

One of the concert band’s selections includes a “Pirates of the Caribbean” symphonic suite, and the percussion ensemble will entertain with its “high energy rhythmic performance” and will even send listeners “back to school” during a special presentation, said Jared Brownlee, assistant director, who conducts both groups. 

Carson’s jazz band will perform the classic jazz chart, In the Mood, in addition to a “K.C. and Sunshine Band” tribute.

There is no charge for admission.
