Financial Aid Announcements:

SUMMER FINANCIAL AID
Students attending Summer 2013 who wish to apply for Financial Aid will need to submit a copy of their summer schedules to the financial aid office once completed.
Some eligibility requirements include, but are not limited to:
-If you received Pell full time in the Fall 2012 and Spring 2013, you may not have remaining funds for the
Summer.
-In order to receive a Student Loan, you must be enrolled in and attending at least 6 hours over the course of the entire Summer semester. You will also need to complete a new Loan Application indicating that you are Applying for SUMMER 2013. If you had student loans in the Fall and Spring of this year, there is a possibility that you may have borrowed the maximum amount that you are eligible for, and thus, may not have remaining funds for the Summer.
-You must be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to receive any type of Federal Financial Aid.
These and other eligibility requirements will be checked by the Financial Aid Office upon submission of your Summer Schedule.
***Cosmetology Students will need to check with the Financial Aid office ASAP regarding their Summer Eligibility Requirements.

2013-2014 FAFSA Priority Deadline is April 1st, 2013
THE SOONER YOU COMPLETE YOUR 2013-2014 FAFSA, THE BETTER. The application is available now at www.fafsa.gov. Students who complete their 2013-2014 FAFSA by the priority deadline will get first consideration for Federal Work Study in the fall, and will be guaranteed to have their available aid applied before the start of the fall semester for charging in the bookstore.
If you have already completed your FAFSA:1. Check your "Status" & "Award" Info below.
2. If you have not been awarded, you may come to the Financial Aid Office to speak with a counselor about being awarded. **Please make sure that you have all (if any) documents requested with you. ***Remember: If you are required to submit tax information, we cannot use your copy, you must request a "transcript" from the IRS. |

The Financial Aid office hours are 8am - 4:30pm Monday - Thursday and 8am - 4:00pm on Fridays. During peak times, announcements will be made each afternoon regarding the cutoff time for the line for the day.

Need $$$ For College?
All students who are planning to attend college in 2012-13 must complete the financial aid application process as soon as possible after January 1.
Returning students must reapply for financial aid each academic year.
Be AWARE of scam websites that try to charge a fee for filling out the application.

2013-14 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) – Grants, work-study, loans and other programs require the application results.
*Complete the FAFSA by choosing one of three following filing methods: Apply online at www.fafsa.gov (preferred method), or Request a paper copy by calling the Federal Student Information Center at 1-800-433-324, or download and print a PDF to complete and mail at www.fafsa.gov (Select FAFSA Filing Options) *Be sure to list ECCC’s school code (002404) on FAFSA if planning to attend or apply for scholarships. *ECCC priority date is April 1st (FAFSA processed by federal processors on or before this date) Priority date ensures eligible students’ complete applications will be processed in time for class and book store charges. The priority date is also used to consider students for work study positions and for Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) funds. *Applications processed after the priority date will be accepted and are encouraged; however, no assurance can be given that funds will be available in all programs. |
