CIRCULATION SERVICES
The Circulation Desk is the main service point for patrons to
register [fill in user profile form], check out and return materials, request
reserve materials, make inquiries and request change for photocopying, request
directions, etc. A librarian and trained staff members
are on duty to assist patrons.
CHECK OUT PROCEDURES
A valid college identification card or identification through Mississippi
Virtual Community College must be presented to borrow materials. Only East
Central Community College or
Mississippi Virtual Community College students, faculty, staff and
administration are eligible to check out materials from Burton Library.
Other patrons may use the Library with some restrictions.
LOAN PERIOD
Circulating books are checked out for two weeks, with renewal privileges,
providing a "Hold" is not placed on the item(s). Videos are
checked out only to faculty. Reference materials, reserve materials and
periodicals are for library use only.
LIBRARY FINES
Fines accrue at $.10 per day for overdue books. During the days that
the library is closed, no fine is assessed for those days. Students are
encourage to check the Student Daily Bulletin, campus bulletin boards,
and Library Newsletter to ensure that they are not delinquent with the
Library. All patrons are asked to clear with the library before
withdrawing from school or before the semester or session ends.
HOLDS
Patrons may place items on hold. Items placed on "hold"
will be held for three school days.
RULES OF CONDUCT
Patrons are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner by
following these guidelines:
l. Remember that each area of the library is designated as a "quiet
zone"
2. Do not bring food or beverages
3. Turn cell phones off
4. Do not bring headphones, radios, CD players, etc.
5. Do not misuse library property
