   What are the hours of the library?

During the fall and spring semesters the library is open Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 9:30 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Sunday (non holiday weekends) 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.  During the summer the library is open from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday.

How long is my check out period?

 The checkout period for books is two weeks; videos are circulated only to faculty and staff members.  We do not allow checkout between semesters.

How many library items may I check out at one time?

 Qualified borrowers (EC students) may check out three books on a given subject.

 East Central faculty and staff may check out an unlimited number of resources for class purposes.

 What are the fines for an overdue item?

 Books- $.10 per day

 Who qualifies to check out an item?

 Any student who has a current East Central I.D. card is eligible to checkout books, and all personnel of the college have checkout privileges.

 Is there an online public access catalog and where is it located?

Yes, they are located in front of the circulation desk.  Remote access is available from the Library’s home page via :    www.eccc.edu

What do I do if I lose my card?

 If a student loses their I.D. card, they need to have a new one made at Student Services.  Card replacement requires a fee.

Which campus building is the library?

 The Library is a one- story building in the center of the campus.

When is library orientation offered?

Library orientation is offered at the request of faculty, staff or an individual.  The College also offers two formal library orientation classes each semester.

Are there computers that I can use?

Yes, any student with a current East Central ID card or local patron (18 years or older) with an appropriate identification card may use the computers.  Computer competence is necessary.

 Do I have access to library resources from home?

Yes, go to the library website.  Access the College’s web page, and click on Library.  If you need passwords for the off-campus databases, please contact the Circulation Desk or e-mail a librarian.

 Can I make copies of printed materials?

Yes, there is a copy machine, located north of the Circulation Desk.  The copyright law is posted by the copy machine.  Copies are $.10 each.  We will make change at the Circulation Desk  (up to $5.00).

What are the copyright rules for making copies?

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 U.S. Code) governs the makings photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.  The person using the equipment is liable for any infringement.
