LESSON 11: ALL THE WEB (FAST) : A Closer Look
DESCRIPTION
All the Web (Fast) originated in Norway. Launched in May 1999, it is one of the newest, largest and fastest of the search engines. Its stated goal is to index all the web that's publicly available. Both the Main Search Page and the Advanced Search Page present a clean, uncluttered look. The advanced search page, in particular, is recommended for serious searches.SEARCHES IN:

- Double quotes (" "), which equate to "the exact phrase"

OTHER SEARCH OPTIONS AND FEATURES
- "All of the words," "Any of the words," and "Exact phrase" searches
- Language options with matching character sets
- Word filter searches with "Should include," "Must include," and "Must not include" in the text, title, URL, host name, and link
- Domain filter searches with "Include" and "Exclude" features
- IP-address filter
- Date restricted searches
- Document size and filetype filters
- Results displayed from 10-100 per page
- Offensive content filter
- News, including language options with matching character sets; search by type of news, geographical location, date restrictions
- Pictures, with file format, image type, and background searching options
- Videos, with format, streams or download searching options; offensive content reduction option
- MP3 files
- FTP files, with type, domain, path, size, hits, and hide options
- No stop words

Go to the Advanced Search Page and search for:

Keeping your main subject, "sacred places," go back and refine your search several times by selecting the "Must include" option, and adding, one at a time, the following words:
