ECCC President Presents Legislative Wish List

East Central Community College Dr. Phil A. Sutphin (left) talks with area legislators following his PowerPoint presentation regarding funding priorities proposed by the state’s community and junior colleges for the upcoming session of the Mississippi Legislature. Dr. Sutphin said the three goals for fiscal year 2009 are mid-level per student funding, capital improvements and high school dropout recovery. The wish list is included in the ongoing Mississippi Values campaign sponsored by the two-year colleges. Burton of Newton. The presentation was made at the College’s annual legislative appreciation luncheon held on the Decatur campus. Also in attendance at the luncheon meeting were several ECCC Board of Trustees members and College personnel.
