ECCC Plans Basketball Camp For Junior High Girls; High School Shootouts

A basketball camp for junior high girls and “shootouts” for high school girl squads are again planned this summer at East Central Community College in Decatur.

The junior high girls’ basketball camp is scheduled June 1-4 in the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building. Activities began with registration from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 1. Two sessions are scheduled later that day, from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Three sessions are offered June 2-3, beginning with an 8 to 11 a.m. workout. Afternoon sessions will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Camp concludes on Wednesday, June 4 with a 9 a.m. to noon session.

Parents and friends are welcome to attend any or all sessions.

Cost is $155 for full-time campers, which includes accident insurance, dorm room, meals and a camp T-shirt. The fee for day campers is $120 and includes noon and evening meals, accident insurance and a camp T-shirt.

“Shootouts” for high school girl squads are scheduled June 23-24 in the Brackeen-Wood gym.

Cost is $150 per team.

Each team is guaranteed to play at least four games.
