ECCC’s Parkman Inks Scholarship

Chris Parkman (right), a two-year baseball standout at East Central Community College in Decatur, is shown signing a national letter of intent to continue his athletic career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville.  Parkman, a 5-11, 200-pound catcher, served as co-captain of the 2008 squad, which finished 26-24 overall and 8-8 in the MACJC Central Division. He posted a .283 batted average with one home run, nine doubles and 37 RBIs during the 2008 campaign. He also helped lead East Central to the 2007 state championship and a 31-23 record. Parkman is a product of Raleigh High School and transferred to East Central from the University of West Alabama. His parents are Jimmy and Myrna Parkman of Pulaski. Parkman is pictured with Neal Holliman, ECCC head baseball coach, during a recent signing ceremony on the Decatur campus.
