ECCC Offers Several Summer Soccer Camps

Several soccer camps are again being offered this summer at East Central Community College in Decatur.

Activities get underway on Saturday, June 7 with a 7-v-7 team camp for girls. A 7-v-7 competition for boys is scheduled Saturday, June 14

Registration for each camp begins at 8 a.m. followed by a coaches’ meeting at 8:30. Competition starts at 9 a.m.

Cost is $20 per player, which includes insurance, lunch and a camp T-shirt.

An overall camp champion trophy will be awarded and medallions will be presented for each team member.

A “Magic Micro Soccer Camp” for ages four through eight will be held Monday, June 9 through Wednesday, June 11.

Instruction will provided from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Cost is $50 per camper, which includes accident insurance, a camp T-shirt and camp ball. The fee for two or more family members is $45 each.

Registration forms should be turned in before June 1, 2008.

East Central is again offering instruction by Eurotech Soccer Camps, rated America’s top camp and tour company since 1990, beginning Monday, July 7 and continuing through Friday, July 11.

A Performance Soccer I Camp, for ages seven through nine, is scheduled each day from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.  This program features individual skill building, motor skills development, fundamental tactics and goal scoring. Coaches will demonstrate correct techniques, reinforce sportsmanship and teach small-sided games. Cost is $125 per camper.

A Performance Soccer 2 Camp, for ages 10 through 12, is scheduled each day also from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. This program builds on skill development while further introducing technical aspects of the game, goal scoring, fundamental tactics, small-sided functional games and the Eurotech World Cup Tournament competitions. Cost is $125 per camper.

A Team Training Camp, for ages 10 to 18, is scheduled each day from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This camp offers a more intensive team training program and guarantees results. For many teams, the program is the equivalent to a full season and involves 30 hours of technical/tactical instruction, competitive matches, small-sided games and a variety of team bonding sessions. Cost is $225 per camper.
