Receive ECCC Women’s Basketball Awards Various honors were presented to the above members of the East Central Community College women’s basketball team at the annual Spring Sports Awards Program held on the Decatur campus. The Lady Warriors were also recognized for winning the Region 23 title and advancing to the NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship in Salina, Kansas. Seated from left are Tawayatha Evans of Newton, scholar athlete; Tenesha Brown of Jackson, most valuable offensive player; and Chotsani Henderson of Newton, most valuable defensive player. Standing from left are Allison Phillips of Carthage, most improved player; Jordan Patterson of Aberdeen, hustle award; and Rashima Jenkins of Bossier City, La., Lady Warrior Award. Brown was also recognized for being selected to the third team NJCAA All-American, All-Region 23 and All-State teams. Jenkins also made the All-State squad. Awards were presented by ECCC President Dr. Phil A. Sutphin and Lady Warrior head coach Bill Smith. |
