ECCC Revises Summer Class Schedule To Include Four-Day Weeks

Students attending classes this summer at East Central Community College will only have to travel four days instead of five to the Decatur campus, due to recent action by the College’s Board of Trustees.

ECCC President Dr. Phil A. Sutphin proposed the summer class schedule be revised “due to the rising cost of gas.”

“We felt the change is necessary to better accommodate and serve our students as well as our faculty,” Dr. Sutphin stated. “The new schedule will obviously mean longer class periods for those involved but the few minutes of additional time each day will be offset by not having to come to campus on Fridays.”

Summer classes affected are those included in the two four-week terms, which are scheduled June 2-27 and July 7-August 1.

The new times are as follows:

First period is scheduled from 7 to 10:55 a.m. (for four-semester hour classes) and from 8 to 10:21 a.m. (for three-semester hour classes).

Second period is from 11 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. (for four-semester hour classes) and 11 a.m. to 1:21 p.m. (for three semester hour classes).
