Record Number Attends ECCC Orientation Session

A record 384 students attended orientation activities held Friday, May 30 at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced Joe Killens, vice president for student services.

Killens said the record number surpassed the previous mark of 329 students who attended orientation on June 1, 2007. Enrollment reached 2428 students during the 2007 fall semester.

“We are obviously very pleased with the record turnout for our first orientation session of the summer,” Killens stated. “We know the main reason students choose EC is for our academic reputation, and we are doing everything we can to make a college education affordable and accessible for students of all ages.”

East Central recently announced that tuition will remain at $700 per semester. The College is also providing Internet and cable TV services for dormitory students.

Additional orientation sessions will be held Saturday, June 7; Thursday, June 26; Wednesday, July 16; and Friday, August 15.

Fall classes begin Thursday, August 21.
