IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Due to limited funding (as part of the federal budget sequester), no WIA Individual Training Account (ITA) applications will be taken until November, 2013. There is no current funding available for the summer and fall semesters or non-semester based short-term training.

Applications for the Spring Term 2014 will be accepted from November 19, 2013 through December 5, 2013. Applications for non-semester based short-term training will also resume on November 1, 2013.

To receive an ITA grant-adult training services, an individual must be:

18 years of age or older
a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen
in compliance with the registration provisions of the Military Selective Service Act.

Individuals, who have been terminated, laid off or who have received notice of separation and individuals who are unemployed due to economic conditions may qualify for training as dislocated workers. Please contact your nearest WIN Job Center for specific eligibility criteria. The WIN in Mississippi site, www.wininmississippi.org, identifies training programs eligible to receive ITA funds. The eligible training provider’s list is designed to help customers make informed training choices by describing the programs/institutions in detail. Please be reminded that WIA financial assistance and service policies for job seekers vary from area to area.
