Two members of the East Central Community College Lady Warrior soccer team have signed to continue their careers next fall at four-year universities.

Sophomore goalkeeper Jordan Havens signed to play for MUW: Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, and sophomore defender Georgie Wilson will play for Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

A product of Horn Lake High School, Havens was stellar in goal during the 2018 fall season for East Central, being selected the team’s Most Valuable Player at the conclusion of the season. She started all 16 games in goal, giving up 31 goals with four shutouts.

The MUW Owls currently compete in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, but have provisionally been accepted to transition to NCAA Division III within the next three years.

Wilson, who prepped at Trinity College Senior in Adelaide, Australia, started 15 of the 16 matches and anchored the Lady Warriors’ defensive back line. She also scored a goal. She was selected to play for the North Division squad in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Women’s All-Star Match. Wilson was also named National Junior College Athletic Association Second Team All-Academic and MACJC Distinguished Academic All-State.

The Mount Mercy Mustangs compete in the NAIA.
