The Financial Aid Office at East Central Community College strives to assist students in their efforts to obtain resources to fund their educational goals. We administer federal, state, institutional, and outside financial aid in the form of grants, scholarships, and work programs.

Beginning with the Summer 2024 semester and forward, our institution will no longer participate in the federal student loan program. Our institution now offers payment plan options, and you can review further information about this option at www.eccc.edu/payment-plan. You can independently get a private loan or non-certified loan to help pay for your educational expenses if you meet your lender's requirements. 

Awarding financial aid is a process and does take time, so please start right away! Now is the time to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA. Remember that the FAFSA is always FREE.

  • 2023-2024 FAFSA is the application for Summer 2024
  • 2024-2025 FAFSA is the application for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025

FINANCIAL AID PRIORITY DATE IS JUNE 1!

THE SOONER YOU COMPLETE YOUR FAFSA, THE BETTER. All Federally funded aid requires the completion of the FAFSA yearly. We have computers and personnel located in our office and are happy to provide assistance with the application process. Students who complete their FAFSA by the priority deadline of June 1 with East Central's school code (002404) will be reviewed and processed first and should be awarded before the first day of school as long as the following requirements have been met: you are registered for classes, have met all Admissions requirements, and have submitted all verification documents, as needed, to Financial Aid.

Help is available for managing the repayment of your student loans after you leave college. Do not default. Please remember to complete student loan exit counseling.

 

Check Your Financial Aid Status

Log in to your myEC account at ​https://my.eccc.edu/ics.
Go to the "Students" tab then click on the "My Charges and Financial Aid" to see information regarding your financial aid.

Were you chosen by the Department of Education for verification?

This means that you must provide our office with a little more detail regarding your application.  To find out what documents are required, please contact our office.

You may request a Tax Return Transcript HERE.

You may request a Proof of Non-Filing Letter from the IRS by completing this FORM.

What do I do now?

If you have completed your FAFSA:

1. Check your Financial Aid Award status on myEC to see if you have been been awarded.

2. If you have not been awarded, you may come to the Financial Aid Office to speak with a counselor about your eligibility.

  • You may see if you were chosen for verification and/or any documents are needed by checking the Financial Aid Document Tracking.
  • If you are required to submit tax information, you may submit a signed copy of the federal tax return with any schedules or a tax return transcript from the IRS.

3. If your FAFSA has been completed within the last 3-5 business days, please ensure that we have your application before coming to the office.

Scholarship & State Aid Issues:

1. Check Financial Aid Awards on myEC to see if the have been awarded.

2. If they are not showing up on your account, you may come to the Financial Aid Office fo speak with a counselor.
