The East Central Community College women’s tennis team lived up to its new top 25 ranking with a 7-2 win over Gulf Coast on Friday, March 15, while the East Central men dropped an 8-1 match to the Gulf Coast Bulldogs. The two teams met on the Gulf Coast campus in Perkinston.

The Lady Warriors, who entered the Oracle/ITA NJCAA Women’s Top 25 poll this week at No. 25, improved to 7-5 on the season, while the Warriors fell to 6-6.

East Central Community College in Decatur will be closed for its annual Spring Break Holidays Monday through Friday, March 18-22, 2019.

The college will reopen on Monday morning, March 25.

The East Central Community College Encore Players will present “Freaky Friday” March 29-April 2, 2019.

Evening performances begin at 7 p.m. Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30. Matinees will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 31, and 9 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 1-2. All performances will be held in the Vickers Fine Arts Center Auditorium on the Decatur campus.

Rain continues to play havoc on the home baseball schedule for East Central Community College, but the Warriors found Stanley James Baseball Park on the campus of Coastal Alabama-South to their liking in picking up their first sweep of the season Tuesday, March 12, in Bay Minette, Ala.

East Central beat the Coastal Alabama-South Sun Chiefs 8-6 in the nine-inning opener and then followed that with an 11-9 seven-inning win in game two.
