The No. 20 ranked East Central Community College Warriors finished up an undefeated week in MACJC league play with a road sweep over the Itawamba Community College Indians Saturday, April 21, at Roy Cresap Field on the ICC campus in Fulton.

East Central grabbed the lead in the sixth inning and held on for a 6-5 nine-inning win in game one. The Warriors scored all their runs in three innings and pounded out 16 hits in an 11-4 win in the seven-inning game two. The Warriors also swept Copiah-Lincoln on Wednesday.

The No. 10 ranked East Central Community College Lady Warriors swept a softball doubleheader at Northwest Mississippi Community College, Saturday, April 21, and in the process earned the right to host a first-round playoff series.

The Lady Warriors won the opener 10-0, and scored eight runs late for a 10-6 comeback win in the nightcap at Ranger Softball Field in Senatobia.

The East Central Community College baseball team will host two open tryouts in May for players interested in playing for Warriors next season.

The tryouts will be held Tuesday, May 1, and Tuesday, May 8, at 4 p.m. each day at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the campus in Decatur.

Interested high school players must have completed their senior seasons to be eligible and bring proof of physical to participate in one of the tryouts. 

All players should bring all necessary baseball equipment.

East Central Community College in Decatur is offering a variety of courses this summer both online and on the Decatur campus, as well as locations in Carthage, Louisville, and Philadelphia.

In addition, the year-round status of the Federal Pell Grant was recently reinstated, which means students may be eligible for Pell Grants for the summer terms using their current 2017-18 FAFSA.

The No. 10 ranked East Central Community College Lady Warriors came back strong to take a 10-7 win in the nightcap and earn a doubleheader split at Pearl River Community College Wednesday, April 18.

The MACJC conference games were played at Lady Wildcat Stadium in Poplarville.

The Pearl River Lady Wildcats won the opener 7-2. East Central ran out to a 10-1 lead in the second game and held on for the 10-7 win.
