Scoreless for 99 minutes and 59 seconds, East Central Community College’s Ashley Langham knocked in the golden goal with one second left in the first overtime period to give the Lady Warriors a 1-0 win over Northwest Mississippi Community College Wednesday, Oct. 11.

In the men’s action, East Central got goals from three different players in a 3-2 win over Northwest.

The MACJC North Division matches were played on the Northwest campus in Senatobia.

Despite East Central outshooting Northwest 26 to 11 overall and 13 to 6 on shots on goal, neither team was able to find the back of the net during the 90-minutes of regulation play before Langham, a sophomore midfielder from Florence, found the opportune time for her second goal of the season.

The East Central women improved to 4-4-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the league. Northwest fell to 5-5 overall and 2-4 in the North Division.

The East Central men jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead and held on for the 3-2 win.
