East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, March 22, to officially open a multipurpose pavilion for the college's tennis teams. The Comans-Hunter Pavilion provides locker rooms, storage, and on-site bathrooms.

"Today was the culmination of hard work from so many people and the realization of a dream that began almost ten years ago to provide the East Central tennis programs with a facility on campus that would rival any in the state of Mississippi at the Community College level, said ECCC Athletic Director Paul Nixon. "The dedication of our on-campus maintenance staff, the commitment of our administration led by Dr. Gregory, Dr. Hollingsworth, and Artie Forman, along with the generosity of our donors, especially the Comans and Hunter families, made that dream a reality today. Our Warrior and Lady Warrior student-athletes, past, present, and future, as well as their families and fans, will be able to enjoy using this beautiful facility for years to come. It is a great day for East Central Tennis, and it's always a great day to be a Warrior!"

The program consisted of remarks from David Case, Executive Vice President, Dylan Barnett, head men's and women's tennis coach, and Paul Nixon, Director of Athletics, before those in attendance participated in self-guided tours.

The tennis facility is a testament to ECCC's commitment to providing student-athletes with the best possible resources to succeed. As ECCC continues to build on its tradition of excellence in athletics, these new facilities will play an essential role in helping the college's tennis teams achieve even greater success in the years to come.
