East Central Community College recently recognized Whittney Phillips as Instructor of the Year and Christy Cooley as Staff Member of the Year.

East Central Community College students earned multiple first- and second-place finishes at the 2026 SkillsUSA State Conference held March 31 through April 2 in Jackson. First-place winners qualified to advance to the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference, which will be held June 1-5 in Atlanta, Georgia.

East Central Community College has named Dr. Aimee C. Brown as Director of Career & Technical Education. Brown brings more than two decades of experience in education, instructional leadership, and workforce-focused programming to the role.

East Central Community College (ECCC) officially marked the completion of its new nursing facility with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on campus, celebrating an important investment in healthcare education and workforce development in east central Mississippi.

East Central Community College will host a special program recognizing Director of Choral Activities Chandler Smith as the recipient of the 2026 Mississippi Humanities Council Teacher Award on Tuesday, March 17, at 2 p.m. in the Ovid S. Vickers Fine Arts Auditorium on the Decatur campus.

The East Central Community College Collegians will present their spring concert, “Magnolia Mayhem,” on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 7 p.m. in Huff Auditorium on the Decatur campus.

East Central Community College held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, March 3, to dedicate the Hogue-Brantley Alumni House on the Decatur campus.

Hogue is a 1961 graduate of East Central Community College and, before his retirement, served as the college's first vice president for foundation and alumni.

East Central Community College hosted its annual Beauty Pageant tonight on the Decatur campus, recognizing several students for their poise, appearance, and stage presence.

At the conclusion of the event, Dixie Rose Nance was named Most Beautiful.
