A battle between the MACCC's top teams did not end in ECCC's favor on Tuesday, May 11, as the Holmes Lady Bulldogs picked up a 4-0 victory to secure the MACCC North Division Championship. Despite the result, the ECCC Lady Warriors have secured their spot in the postseason and earned home-field advantage in the opening round as the No. 2 seed from the north with a 9-2-2 overall record. ECCC will face the No. 3 team from the south, the loser of Gulf Coast and Pearl River, on Tuesday, May 18, at 6 p.m. The final regular-season match of the season is set for Friday, May 14, as the Lady Warriors play host to the Hinds Lady Eagles in Bailey Stadium. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.

Holmes was quick to score on Tuesday morning with a goal in the opening five minutes of play. The match, which was held on Holmes practice field due to weather conditions, swung even further into the Lady Bulldogs' favor as they netted two more goals in the opening half growing the lead to 3-0.

The Lady Warriors refused to tap out and continued to apply pressure to the Lady Bulldog defense throughout the second half and only conceded one goal in the second.

ECCC finished the contest with seven shots, three of which were on goal. Ameris Taylor (Ocean Springs) was the lone Lady Warrior with multiple shots. Holmes posted 15 shots, with nine on goal. Olivia Clark (Decatur) had five saves in the match.
