ECCC Workforce Development Center Offers Various Classes in Philadelphia Beginning Feb. 19

The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center is offering various courses at the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career-Technical Center located at 900 Valley View Drive beginning Monday, Feb. 19.

Basic Automotive Repair: Meets from 6 to 9 p.m. every Monday for eight consecutive weeks. Cost is $150 and Kirt Doss will serve as instructor.

East Central Basketball Teams Fall in Division Games at Jones County

The No. 5 ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats picked up a 101-59 win over the East Central Community College Lady Warriors Thursday, Jan. 25, while the JCJC Bobcats pulled out a 68-61 win over the Warriors in the men’s action.

The two MACJC South Division contests were played in A.B. Howard Gymnasium on the JCJC campus in Ellisville.

ECCC Men’s Soccer Program to Hold Open Tryout Feb. 22

An open tryout for the 2018 East Central Community College men’s soccer team will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the soccer pitch on the Decatur campus, announced head men’s soccer coach Kenneth Thompson.

Registration will be held at the Brackeen-Wood Physical Education Building beginning at 1 p.m.

Players will need to bring their own equipment to workout in for the day. All players will have to sign a waiver of liability in order to participate in the tryouts.

ECCC Basketball Teams Lose Road Games at Copiah-Lincoln

The East Central Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams went on the road after a week off due to the winter weather and dropped a pair of MACJC South Division games at Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson Thursday, Jan. 18.

The Co-Lin Lady Wolves won the women’s game 86-67, while the Wolves followed with a 97-74 win over the ECCC Warriors.

ECCC Warriors Defeat Meridian for 7th Straight Basketball Win

Freshman guard Roti Ware continued his hot play of late dropping in 31 points to lead the East Central Community College Warriors to their seventh straight win 89-77 over the Meridian Community College Eagles in a game played on the MCC campus Thursday, Jan. 11.

The East Central women lost for the second straight game after starting the season 8-0. The Meridian Lady Eagles took a 66-56 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges South Division win in the opening game of the night.
