The East Central Community College men's and women's tennis teams recorded victories over Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia Wednesday, March 29.

The ECCC women defeated Northwest 6-3 to improve to 6-7 on the season. The No. 17 ranked East Central men won 6-3 to improve their record to 9-4.

The East Central Community College Art Department will host its 2017 Student Art Exhibition beginning Monday, April 17, through Friday, April 28, in the lobby of the Vickers Fine Arts Center Auditorium.

A reception will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in the lobby of the Vickers Fine Arts Center. Refreshments will be served.

The exhibition will feature drawings, paintings, sculpture and designs produced by EC students during the 2016-2017 school year.

The No. 14 East Central Community College Lady Warrior softball team pounded out 33 hits and plated 27 runs in sweeping a doubleheader from the Mississippi Delta Community College Lady Trojans Sunday afternoon, March 26, in Moorhead.

East Central won the first game 14-2 in five innings and then took the nightcap 13-2 in six innings.

With the wins, the Lady Warriors improved to 26-4 on the season and 11-3 in MACJC league play.

The bats were hot for the No. 7 ranked Diamond Warriors on Friday, March 24, as the East Central Community College baseball scored 41 runs through two games to sweep the Holmes Community College Bulldogs in Goodman. The solid hitting performance landed ECCC a 30-1 and 11-2 wins.

With the sweep, East Central improved to 20-4 on the season and 6-0 in MACJC league play.

The East Central Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams rebounded from losses to nationally ranked Meridian teams earlier in the week to sweep Holmes Community College by identical 9-0 scores in matches played Friday, March 24, at the new Tennis Complex in Decatur.

The No. 17 ranked Warriors improved their record to 7-4 on the season, while the Lady Warriors improved to 5-6.
