East Central Community College inducted 69 students into the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society during a ceremony held Monday, September 22, 2025, in Huff Auditorium.
The program began with an invocation from James Miller, Vice President for Student Services, followed by a welcome and opening remarks from ECCC President Dr. Brent Gregory. Miller also recognized chapter officers before the induction of new members, which was conducted by PTK Chapter Officers Brylee Jones (President), Kade Shoemake (VP of Leadership), Ben Land (VP of Service), Millaray Quevedo (VP of Scholarship), and Jaci Willis (VP of Fellowship).
New members were welcomed by PTK Advisors Renee Boggan and Dr. Amanda Walton, and the program concluded with closing remarks from Executive Vice President David Case.
Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of two-year colleges, established in 1918 to recognize academic achievement and provide opportunities for growth through leadership and service. To be eligible for membership, students must complete at least 12 hours of associate degree coursework and maintain a minimum 3.5 grade point average.
