East Central Community College (ECCC) in Decatur continues to lead the way in student enrollment growth among Mississippi's 15 community colleges, reporting a 7.6% increase in spring-to-spring headcount from 2024 to 2025. Over the past three years, ECCC has increased enrollment by an impressive 25.6% in spring-to-spring headcount, the most in the state. This sustained growth reflects ECCC’s ongoing commitment to providing an exceptional, affordable educational experience that attracts students from across its five-county district and beyond.
“We are so proud of the efforts of our enrollment management team, faculty, staff, and the entire ECCC community,” said ECCC President Dr. Brent Gregory. “This continued growth is a testament to the quality education, supportive environment, and exciting campus life we offer. It underscores our dedication to student success and our role as a premier choice for higher education in Mississippi.”
ECCC’s consistent enrollment increases can be attributed to its strategic focus on student success initiatives, sincere involvement faculty and staff to students, and comprehensive support services. The college’s reputation for excellence, combined with its affordability and commitment to student engagement, continues to attract both traditional and nontraditional students in all programs on campus.
“Our continued growth is exciting, and it motivates us to keep enhancing the student experience,” added Gregory. “We are committed to providing unparalleled educational opportunities that prepare our students for success both academically and in their future careers.”
