East Central Community College freshman Ashley Clark of Noxapater displays her pin design which won first place in the SkillsUSA pin design contest sponsored by the Mississippi Department of Education. Her design will be transformed into the state pin that will be given to all Mississippi participants at the National Leadership and Skills Conference in Louisville, Ky., this summer. Clark is a student in the college’s Carpentry Technology program. SkillsUSA is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
