East Central Community College’s women’s tennis team defeated Copiah-Lincoln Community College 5-4, while the men’s tennis team fell against the Wolves 3-6 Wednesday, March 2, in Decatur.
 
The Warriors record dropped to 2-6 for the season. The Lady Warriors overall record improved to 2-5.
 
Results from the men’s match are as follows:
 
Men’s Singles: EC’s John Jimenez of Oruro, Bolivia, fell to Matteusz Kimelski, 3-6, 1-6; EC’s Alex Chapman of Semmes, Ala., fell to Skylar Moody, 3-6, 3-6; EC’s Cole Duty of Winston Academy beat Braxton Hinton, 1-6, 7-6(7-0)(10-4); EC’s Devin Skinner of Neshoba Central High School fell to Hayes Thompson, 7-6(3-7), 0-6; EC’s Brandon Rogers of Winston Academy fell to Drake Nelson, 0-6, 2-6; and EC’s Graham Murphree of Newton County High School fell to Cory Alderman, 1-6, 2-6.
 
Men Doubles: EC’s Jimenez/Will Stewart beat Alderman/Kimelski, 8-5; EC’s Rogers/Skinner beat Will Pennington/Thompson, 8-6; and EC’s Duty/Chapman fell to Hinton/Nelson, 1-8.

Women’s Singles: EC’s Chaney Mills of Newton County High School fell to Madison Warren, 3-6, 4-6; EC’s Brooke Payne of Union High School fell to Brandi McInnis, 7-5, 3-6(5-10); EC’s Andi McCrimon of Winston Academy beat Chantel Quarles, 6-4, 6-0; EC’s Samantha McCrimon of Winston Academy beat Susanna Ratcliff, 6-3, 6-0; EC’s Emily Dykeman of Forest High School beat Bayli Battle, 6-1, 6-3; and EC’s Hannah Payne of Union High School beat Julie Kramer, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Women’s Doubles: EC’s Mills/B. Payne fell to Warren/McInnis, 6-8; EC’s McCrimon/McCrimon fell to Ratcliff/Quarles, 4-8; and EC’s Payne/Dykeman beat Battle/Kramer, 8-1.
 
The Lady Warriors are set to play Marion Military Institute Friday, March 4 at 4 p.m. in Decatur.
 
East Central’s netters will play on the road against Itawamba Community College on Thursday, March 10. The matches start at 2 p.m.
