East Central Community College recognized 64 graduates during its 2026 High School Equivalency Graduation ceremony held Thursday, June 18, in Huff Auditorium on the Decatur campus.

The ceremony celebrated students who completed the requirements to earn their High School Equivalency diploma through ECCC’s Adult Education program. The achievement marks an important step for graduates as they continue pursuing educational, career, and personal goals.

ECCC President Dr. Brent Gregory welcomed graduates, family members, and guests to the ceremony. Alfreda Thompson, director of Adult Education/High School Equivalency, offered words of encouragement, and Brittany Harris, a 2026 HSE graduate, shared a student testimonial. Victoria Harris, HSE facilitator, presented the candidates, and Gregory awarded the diplomas.

High School Equivalency programs provide an important pathway for individuals seeking to complete their secondary education and move forward with additional training, college coursework, or employment opportunities.
