East Central Community College recognized the achievements of student scholarship recipients during the 2025 Scholarship Recognition Reception, held September 24 in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium on the Decatur campus.
The annual event, sponsored by the East Central Community College Foundation, brought together students, donors, faculty, staff, and community members to celebrate the impact of scholarships on student success.
The program began with a welcome from Dr. Stacey Hollingsworth, Executive Director of the ECCC Foundation, followed by an invocation from Mr. Tyler Yates, Vice President for Business Operations.
Several student scholarship recipients shared remarks during the ceremony, including:

Reagan Lowe, recipient of the Harvey & Martha Wheeler Pre-Pharmacy/Pre-Med Scholarship

Adam Savell, recipient of the Classes of 1957, 1958, and 1959 Scholarship

Kimyatta Viviams, recipient of the Jesse A. Ladd Memorial Scholarship

Neely Wolverton, recipient of the Laura Reeves Thorne Memorial Scholarship
The program concluded with remarks from ECCC President Dr. Brent Gregory, who commended the scholarship recipients for their accomplishments and expressed appreciation to donors whose support makes such opportunities possible.
The Scholarship Recognition Reception is held annually to highlight the generosity of ECCC’s donors and to celebrate the students whose educational journeys are made possible through scholarships.
