The East Central Community College men’s soccer team saw its season come to an end with a 5-1 loss to the Southwest Mississippi Community College Bears in an MACJC quarterfinal matchup in Bailey Stadium in Decatur Tuesday, Oct. 25.
ECCC’s lone goal was by Fredy Gutierrez of Pontotoc High School on a penalty kick.
Coach Kenneth Thompson’s men’s squad finished 9-8 on the season and 5-3 in the North Division.
The East Central men also posted the longest winning streak in the program history at six games, Gutierrez was the leading scorer in the North Division.
The sophomore players on this year’s team advanced to the playoffs both seasons at East Central.
