East Central Community College (ECCC) is proud to announce the hiring of Dr. Chelsey Vincent as the new University Transfer Advisor. Dr. Vincent, an ECCC alumna, will take on this important role, assisting current ECCC students as they navigate their academic pathways and prepare for successful university transitions.
“We are thrilled to have Dr. Vincent join our staff,” said ECCC President Dr. Brent Gregory. “Her expertise in this area and passion for student success make her an excellent fit for this position. She will undoubtedly help our students thrive as they prepare for the next steps in their academic careers.”
Dr. Vincent earned her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University and brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles at Mississippi State, where she served as an instructor and coordinator for the Center for Academic Excellence. With over a decade of experience in student advising, academic support, and leadership, Dr. Vincent will be pivotal in guiding students through their academic journeys at ECCC and beyond.
In her new role, Dr. Vincent will be responsible for advising students about bachelor's programs and continuing their education at four-year institutions. She will also work closely with the Warrior Path to Success program, guiding undecided students as they explore potential majors. Additional duties include assisting with retention efforts, providing leadership in the advising system, supporting students in self-registration, and maintaining student records.
“I am so excited to return to East Central as an employee and help set up students for success as they look to continue their education after ECCC,” stated Dr. Vincent. “ECCC was such an important part of my academic career... it’s truly an honor to serve students at the same institution that served me so well.”
Dr. Vincent will collaborate with faculty on course schedules, assist students with transfer and career planning, and serve as a liaison to four-year institutions across Mississippi.
