The East Central Community College women’s soccer team remained undefeated on the season with a 5-0 non-division win over the Meridian Community College’s Lady Eagles in Bailey Stadium in Decatur on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The win improved East Central’s record to 9-0 on the season. It is the longest winning streak in program history, topping last year’s then-record eight straight victories to open the 2015 season.

Freshman Aubree Patterson of Richland High School scored three minutes into the match to give ECCC the early lead. Also in the first half, Ashley Langham of Florence High School and Sierra Maness of Corinth High School each scored off of assists by Patterson.

ECCC added two more goals in the second half. Maness scored again on an assist by Cailee Helen McClain of Starkville High School, before Patterson scored again with 10 minutes to play.

East Central will travel to face No. 11 ranked Jones County Junior College (7-1) in Ellisville, with the match set for Friday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m.
