East Central Community College shortstop Trey Lewis has been tabbed as the MACCC Player of the Week for his unbelievable performance in the Warriors' four wins over Southwest and Tyler Junior College. ECCC defeated the Bears 9-0 and 15-5 on the road March 2 before taking down the Tyler Junior College Apaches 9-1, 12-5 in a home doubleheader March 5. The wins helped launch the Warriors to No. 5 in the latest NJCAA poll.

Lewis, a sophomore from Silas, Ala., posted a whopping .818 batting average as he went 9-for-11 from the plate with seven singles, a double, and a triple. To go along with the hits, he drew four walks and was twice hit by pitch during the four-game stretch. The right-hander drove in just four runs from the plate but had a staggering 13 runs scored, nearly a third of the Warriors' runs. The runs were manufactured from Lewis' stellar baserunning as he swiped five bases on the week. In the field, Lewis had six putouts and four assists.

Lewis stretched his hit streak to a team-high 10 games and his reached base streak to 13.

The remarkable week puts Lewis at the top of ECCC's batters with a .489 batting average, .681 slugging percentage, and .579 on-base percentage.
