​Four East Central Community College Lady Warriors and one Warrior were named to the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges All-State basketball teams announced Monday, March 7, 2016.
 
Sophomore guard/forward Prince McDaniel out of Pascagoula High School was named to the MACJC Men’s All-State South Division Second Team.
 
McDaniel averaged a team-high of 14.9 points per game. He also averaged 4.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
 
East Central’s men’s basketball team ended the season 13-10 overall and 8-6 in the conference.
 
For the Lady Warriors, Samantha Duncan out of Oak Grove High School and Alexia McDonald out of Petal High School were named to the MACJC Women’s All-State South Division First Team.
 
A sophomore guard, Duncan averaged 15.9 points per game. She also had 3.6 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game.
 
Sophomore guard McDonald averaged team-highs of 16.2 points and 2.7 steals per game. She also had 7.8 rebounds per game for the season.
 
Sophomore guard Kalybriah Haskin of Olympian (Chula Vista, Calif.) High School and sophomore guard Miracle Rushing of Meridian High School were named to the MACJC Women’s South Division Second Team.
 
Haskin averaged 12 points per game. She also had 1.7 steals, 1.7 assists and 1.4 rebounds per game.
 
Rushing had a team-high for rebounds bringing down 9.5 per game. She also averaged 2 steals and 11.8 points per game.
 
The Lady Warriors finished their season with an overall record of 24-3 and 15-1 in the conference.
 
The strong performances of these Lady Warriors helped East Central’s women’s basketball team clinch the MACJC South Division title and MACJC State Championship.
