The East Central Community College Lady Warriors picked up two big MACCC wins to bookend the weekend with an 8-0 win over Southwest on Friday, April 9, and a 3-1 victory over Northwest on Monday, April 12. The wins moved the Lady Warriors to 3-0-1 on the year and put ECCC in a strong position in the early goings of the 2021 season.

The Lady Warriors cruised by the Lady Bears of Southwest on Friday. Four different Lady Warriors scored goals in the 8-0 rout. Madison Diers (Ellisville) netted two, while Nicole O'Neill (Dublin, Ireland) also found the back of the net twice. Megan Harris (Tooting, United Kingdom) and Sasha Clare (Belfast, United Kingdom) added one goal each, while the final two were credited as team goals. Clare and Ameris Taylor (Ocean Springs) led the Lady Warriors with two assists each. Olivia Clark(Decatur) had one save in the net for ECCC, but the Lady Warriors' defense, as a whole, was stellar as that save was Southwest's only shot on goal for the entire 90 minutes.

ECCC's 3-1 win over Northwest was a much closer contest as Brendaisha Garrett (Gautier), Jaden Ham (Richton), and Clare all found goals. Ham and Garrett both scored around the 30-minute mark in the first half allowing the Lady Warriors to take a 2-0 advantage to the half. The Lady Rangers of Northwest hit back in the second with a score, but Sasha Clare hit the upper right 90 from 35 yards out on a freekick to push the lead 3-1. Diers and Taylor both posted assists in the win.

The wins put the Lady Warriors among the top schools in the MACCC as of now in the conference standings. ECCC is on the road on Friday, April 16, as the team travels to Fulton to take on the Itawamba Community College Lady Indians.
