It was a battle of the unbeaten on April 23 in Decatur as the No. 2 Holmes Lady Bulldogs brought their 4-0 record into Bailey Stadium and faced off with the home-standing No. 18 East Central Community College Lady Warriors who had a 5-0-1 record entering the contest.

The first half of play was a defensive stalemate as neither squad could capitalize on their limited number of shots on goal. For the majority of the opening 45 minutes Holmes had possession of the ball in ECCC's territory, but the Lady Warriors' defense held a strong line and halted every Bulldog attack.

The second half was still a test of grit as both defenses continued to dig their heels in. The Lady Warriors continued the stellar play on their end of the field and made impressive plays on some dangerous Holmes' corner kicks late in regulation. At the buzzer, the contest was scoreless, 0-0.

Overtime was much of the same for both teams as physical play continued. Despite the additional 20 minutes, neither team was able to find the back of the net resulting in a draw.

The tie moves the Lady Bulldogs to 4-0-1 on the year and the Lady Warriors to 5-0-2.
