The Lady Warriors of East Central Community College fell to 0-1 in conference play on Thursday night, Dec. 2, as the Pearl River Lady Wildcats remained undefeated on the year with a 76-49 victory. ECCC drops to 4-4 on the season, while PRCC moved to 7-0. 

The Lady Wildcats got out in front early Thursday night, but ECCC hung around and kept the game with five points. Late in the first quarter, PRCC fired off three, three-pointers to push the lead to double-digits, 24-8. The Lady Warriors continue to fight on both ends of the floor and strung together a 6-0 run in the second quarter to pull the game back to single digits and take a nine-point, 36-27, deficit into the break. 

The lead went further into Pearl River's favor in the third quarter as ECCC was outpaced, 21-11, which put the Lady Wildcats in control and eventually secured the victory. 

Wynter Taylor (Dallas, Texas) and Sylvia Jones (Brighton, Tenn.) posted double-digit performances for ECCC with Taylor scoring 13 and Jones adding 11. Pearl River was led by 17 points from Keshunti Nichols. ECCC shot 32 percent from the field but went 8-for-17 from three-point land for 47 percent. PRCC was 50 percent from the floor and 43 percent from long-range. The Lady Warriors capitalized on trips to the free-throw stripe, making 9-of-11 shots for 82 percent, a season-high. 

The Lady Warriors are back at home on Monday, December 6 as ECCC takes on the Coahoma Lady Tigers. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. and fans that cannot attend can watch the action live at www.eccclive.com/gold.
