Three East Central Community College men’s basketball players will continue their playing careers at NCAA Division I four-year universities next fall.
Jaquan Dotson, a 6-4 guard out of Neshoba Central High School in Philadelphia, signed to continue his career with the Savannah State University Tigers in Savannah, Ga. Savannah State is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. He averaged 14 points and led the team in rebounding with seven per game this past season.
Cameron Diggs, a 6-9 forward out of Blount High School in Mobile, Ala., signed with the University of North Alabama Lions in Florence, Ala. UNA will begin its first season as an NCAA Division I program in 2018-19 as a member of the Atlantic Sun Conference. Diggs averaged nearly 11 points and almost seven rebounds per contest last season.
Thurston McCarty, a 6-7 guard out of Shubuta and Quitman High School, has committed to attend Ivy League school Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., where he will also play basketball for the Big Red. He averaged nearly 13 points and five rebounds per game.
