For the second week in a row, ECCC's Olivia Clark (Decatur) has been named Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Goalie of the Week. The freshman had three strong performances against Hinds, Northwest Mississippi, and nationally ranked Southwestern Illinois College.

Clark was stellar in the Lady Warriors' two shutout wins against Hinds and Northwest, both 1-0 victories. The Lady Warriors lost to the No. 5 Southwestern Illinois Blue Storm, but Clark posted six saves on nine shots on goal in ECCC's only loss on the year, 3-1.

"Olivia has continued to show improvement and is delighted her team has continued winning and having shutouts in front of her," said ECCC head women's soccer coach Ryan Joiner. "She's been tremendous as our only goalkeeper on the roster, and we're happy to see her rewarded."

The honor is the Lady Warriors' third of the season with Sasha Clare getting the nod a few weeks ago before Clark doubled up on the recognition.

"We have had a winning season so far, but our first loss against Southwestern Illinois will be motivation for us to help reach our ultimate goal of being NJCAA National Champions one day," said Clark. "As a goalkeeper, losses like that are hard and taken personally, but sometimes we have to get knocked down to be built back up even stronger."

The ECCC Lady Warriors are back on the pitch tomorrow, Wednesday, May 5 in a matchup with Itawamba that was rescheduled due to inclement weather. The Lady Warriors are back at home the following day, Thursday, May 6 for a match with Co-Lin which will serve as Sophomore Night. Both matches kick off at 5 p.m. and can be seen live at www.eccclive.com/gold
