Looking to add a few new skills to your resume? Want to improve your basic computer skills? East Central Community College in Decatur will offer a variety of one-day continuing education courses this fall, some of which are free.
Introduction to Microsoft Word will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, in the Success Center, which is located in Burton Library on the Decatur campus. Misty Smith will serve as instructor and there is no cost for this course. The class will introduce participants to the basics of how to create a Word document to meet any standards.
Classroom Management is a course where instructors and other educational professionals can earn CEU credit. It offers study on tactics and methodologies for successful classroom management. Participants can enroll and complete this 10-hour online course at any point between Oct. 2 and Dec. 8, 2017. It can be finished in a weekend or participants can work at their own pace over the course of two months. The cost is $50 per person and Teresa Gordon is the instructor.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel will meet from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the Success Center. Misty Smith will serve as instructor and there is no cost for this course. This is a basic introductory course to Excel.
Building Successful Teams Through Collaboration and Cooperation is being offered at the Carthage Career Advancement Center, located on the square in Carthage and will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tues., Oct. 17, 2017. Matthew Riley will serve as instructor and the cost is $25 per person. This course will offer tips and guidelines for consolidating your employees into a focused and determined unit.
Computer Basics will introduce participants to the basics of computer hardware, internet and email use. It will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017, at the Forest Career Advancement Center located in downtown Forest. The cost is $25 per person and Ken Ethridge will serve as instructor.
