With wins over visiting Itawamba Community College, the East Central Community College women’s and men’s soccer teams are 1-0 in Mississippi Association of Junior and Community Colleges North Division action.
The Lady Warriors are now 3-0 overall on the season with the 2-0 victory over ICC Friday, Sept. 2, on the Decatur campus.
Scoring for East Central were Madison Deslatte of Madison Central High School assisted by Kenzie Jenkins of McLaurin High School, and a free kick by Ashley Langham, a product of Florence High School.
In the second match of the day, the ECCC men beat ICC 2-0 to improve to 2-2 on the season.
Scoring for the men’s team were Fredy Gutierrez of Pontotoc High School assisted by Courtland Moore of Center Hill High School, and Joseph Stewart of Callaway High School assisted by Orion Anderson of Clinton High School.
The Warriors faced Meridian Community College on Aug. 31 and fell to the Eagles 5-2. Scorers were Moore and Gutierrez.
The men's and women’s soccer teams will travel to Senatobia on Wednesday, Sept. 7, to face Northwest Mississippi Community College at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
